Knights in Action

 
Saturday January 26th the Annual Allen Country Right to Life March was held in downtown Fort Wayne. The Anthony Wayne Assembly provided to Honor Guard and dozens of area knights join with local leaders to include Congressman Senator Mark Souder. This is the largest Pro Life March in Indiana and its 34 year. Several speakers were followed by a walking rosary through downtown.









 

The Knights and guests of St. Joseph Hessen Cassel, Council #12379 in Fort Wayne attended a baseball game July 14th. The game was between the Fort Wayne Wizards and the Cedar Rapids Kernels. The Wizards beat the Kernels 10 to 7. Members and guests of all ages had a great time.



Council 7839 in Kendallville, IN.  Knights cooking breakfast on August 26, 2007. We served pancakes,sausage, eggs, hash browns, fruit bowl, coffee, OJ, and milk.  The men pictured are left to right, John Riemke(Trustee), Vince Helmkamp(Trustee), Mike Fitzgibbon(Finacial Secretary), Greg Carter(Grand Knight), and Jim Mueller(Deputy Grand Knight). Council #7544 held a BBQ rib sale to support the Father Mark Toon scholarship fund at St. Benedict Cathedral School.  The event raised $3000 for the scholarship fund.  Photos submitted by Scott Blonigen

The last of the Awards have arrived to the District Deputy's.  Congratulations to all who achieved their goals.


The Marian prayer program under the title of Our Lady of Charity was launched on Saturday, September 8th, at the parish of our State Chaplain and State Deputy. Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Huntington witnessed the beginning of a year long Marian Hour of Prayer at the Mass on the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Mother. State Chaplain, Fr. Ron Rieder spoke of the theme of charity and love of God in his homily and lead everyone in a prayer to Our Lady of Charity.

Brother Knight Returns from Iraq

 

NOBLESVILLE - On July 28, 2007 The Neal Family along with the local Knights of Columbus

council 9706 and Assembly # 2740 celebrated the return of PGK James Neal. Brother James

completed a tour of military duty in Iraq and was presented the American Flag for his efforts

and service to the country.





Father Hassel Council 1131 in Princeton spent Derby weekend selling Tootsie Rolls. Over $5,000 was raised. Proceeds to go G.C.A.R.C. which provides training and jobs for the handicapped of Pike and Gibson Counties.
