NOW is the time of year that you need to be thinking and planning the activities that your council will be nominating for the State Awards at the Indiana Convention in April. There are many awards to be considering but let me draw your attention to one award in particular - the Father McGivney Award. This is the award that recognizes the best vocation activity. What is or was your council’s vocation activity?
Every vocation activity shows that the council is supporting the seminarians. If your council has held a vocation activity this fraternal year, please take the time to do the paperwork to nominate the activity. Remember our seminarians truly, truly appreciate the Knights support.
Several councils have reported Vocation activities, now let’s take the time to nominate them. It is very easy to do. Just complete this form by clicking on this link.
Print out a copy, fill out the form and send to the Vocations Chairman:
Please note: DEADLINE is February 28, 2016.
Did you know? Last fraternal year 96 councils received either certificates or plaques to show their generous donations to the Tony Muffoletto Support Our Seminarian Program (SOS Fund). The top council was 13003 of Merrillville for their donation equaling 1152% of their membership. The council donating the most money was 11276 of Fort Wayne totaling $2062. Job well done! There were 13 councils that donated $1000 or more. Awards are given to councils in several different categories based on the council’s membership. The break down is for donations equaling 100% of the council’s membership and the same for 200%, 300%, 400% or 500% or more. Now is the time of the year to promote your council’s effort in supporting the S.O.S. Program. Please keep the seminarians in your prayers.
