PD Monthly Letter

March 2010

Congratulations to all of the Knights who have supported Special Olympics Indiana in their participation in the 2010 Polar Plunge!  Hopefully, we've all thawed out by now!

During March, we're at the pinnacle of activity across the State - Free Throw Contests, Polar Plunge, Essay Contests, Fish Fry's, and getting ready for the State Convention in April, and other activities across the six Programming Categories.  By this time, the State Council is in the process of receiving and reviewing nominations and applications for the State Service Program Awards - hoping to find the "cream of the crop" to represent our State for consideration of the Supreme Council.

At this time of the year, Councils can be looking forward to electing delegates to the State Convention in April.  This is the Council's opportunity to participate in the State Council process, hear motivating speakers, and learn more about our different membership and activity programs.  It is very important that each Council sends delegates to participate in the convention and to represent your Council.  Please be sure to submit your delegate reservations and registrations in as soon as possible, if you haven't already done so.

As you may have heard, we had a technical issue with the submission of Pro-Life activities over the past few months.  We have performed an audit of the electronic submissions and have corrected the Activity Tracking Report.  The report, as of 2/15/10, should be up to date and accurate.  If you are seeing any other discrepancies, please be sure to contact the appropriate Director as soon as possible.

As I wrote last month, we're rounding the corner toward the State Convention (April 23rd) and looking to the horizon of the Fraternal Year.  We encourage you to set goals and have your Council set for STAR Council as soon as possible.  Don't wait until June!  No late entries for activities will be accepted.  The deadline for Activity submissions is June 30th - no exceptions.   Also, please be sure that you are using the current forms for ALL submission - no old forms are accepted.

As always, if you have any questions - please contact me.  Let me know how I can serve you today!

Vivat Jesus!
